On tonight’s show, the main event was a triple threat number one contenders match between Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Carmella. Now originally it was going to be Asuka versus Becky Lynch with the title on the line and then they had seemed to nix the match. Yet, tonight on Smackdown Becky Lynch was victorious so that original match is taking place.

At the Royal Rumble, Becky Lynch will challenge Asuka for the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship. It is odd that they wanted to do the match, they didn’t want to do the match and then again made the match official. We know the rumor is Becky challenging Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania by possibly winning the Royal Rumble match and that could still happen. Depending on card placement of matches, if Asuka beats Lynch she could still enter into the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

The Royal Rumble comes our way on January 27th from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona live on the WWE Network.
