RAW Women’s Title Match Announced For The Royal Rumble

January 8, 2019 0 By Tim Jarrell

The Royal Rumble is closing in just a few short weeks and Ronda Rousey’s challenger has been decided.

On tonight’s Monday Night RAW, Ronda Rousey was the first guest of Alexa Bliss’ new talk show “A Moment Of Bliss”. Rousey would go on to talk about a certain female that she wants to have a match with. She would state that there is one woman who has worked her way to the where she is today. This woman is the unsung hero of Monday Night Raw and that woman is Sasha Banks.

This would lead to Nia Jax coming out stating that she should get another shot at Rousey and the title and Banks was not having it. Banks would then challenge Jax to a number one contender match on the spot. The winner would move on to the Royal Rumble and face Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship. Jax was reluctant at first but after the commercial, the match was officially started.

Jax dominated a good portion of the match but in the end, Banks was victorious making Nia Jax tap out. So that means at the Royal Rumble Sasha Banks will face Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship. Sasha Banks has not been spotlighted as a singles competitor in a long time and it is good to see Banks get the push even if this is just a stop gap for Rousey on her way to a bigger match at WrestleMania.

The Royal Rumble comes our way on January 27th from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona live on the WWE Network.
