Yesterday on Monday Night RAW Vince, Stephanie, Shane, and Triple H stated that they were taking back control of their company and will be implementing a “fresh start”. Baron Corbin is no longer the RAW General Manager and no replacement was named on RAW. With that many started to speculate what would happen to Paige and her role and the Smackdown Live Women’s Champion.

Tonight Smackdown Live opened up with Shane McMahon backstage with a number of the Smackdown roster and was talking about the fresh start. He would then go on to say the with this new start Paige will longer continue in her role as Smackdown General Manager. Shane stated Paige is not going anywhere but will be doing something new. The superstars present then began a “Thank You Page” chant as the show began.

Paige officially retired from in-ring competition in the WWE back in April on the Monday Night RAW following WrestleMania. The following night on Smackdown Shane named her the new GM of Smackdown replacing Daniel Bryan. As of right now, it is unclear what new role Paige will have on Smackdown but Shane did state she is not going anywhere.
